About Me

Born and raised in Mexico City, Fernando “El Pop” Romo studied Physics at the UNAM Faculty of Sciences—a journey he describes as barely surviving. During a subsequent existential crisis, he pursued further studies in Electronic Engineering at UAM. His early career included a tenure in Systems Engineering at Banamex, though he eventually resigned due to frustrations with the bank’s operational methods. This led to the creation of his first venture, “Físicos Ingenieros y Matemáticos en Concertación, S.A. de C.V.” (FIMAT). Following a period of fiscal restructuring, he founded “Origen de Sistemas, S.A. de C.V.,” which he later sold to join Acer Computec Latin America as Director of Systems, overseeing regional projects.

Driven by another existential pivot, he left Acer to establish “La Cofradía Digital,” a portal dedicated to Free Software. He currently serves as the CEO of Incuvox, S.A. de C.V., and Director of Voipcamp, S.C. When not managing these roles, he focuses on the pragmatic work required to support his family.
